Why Kogire-kai deals in the auction of antiques

Attracted to antiques, you hope secretly to get a collector's item some day - there would be a great number of such would-be antique lovers. Then, why don't you try to get one in effect? Maybe, the reason is you cannot determine whether a price tag you find in an antique shop is appropriate or not, or that you feel the pricing of the antique to be dubious. Further, perhaps few of you have chance to buy an antique.
It is true that the world of selling and buying antiques has been an "exclusive territory for professionals" for a long time. For many people, the chances to buy antiques are rare, and the pricing process seems to be far from transparent. The majority of the antiques are sold and bought at "closed prices" even today, when many products including home appliances are sold at open prices.
I am an antique enthusiast since I was an elementary school boy, spending even the reserve for school trip for antiques. Operating an antique shop of one-tsubo (3.3m2) as its name "Ikko-do" suggests for a long time in Higashiyama, Kyoto, I have tried to find a way how to help "a man searching for art objects of value" to meet with "a person who wants to pass on his art object to another who wants it sincerely". Thus, I held a silent auction in 1993 for the first time as a pioneer in this business world. For tens of years since then, I have continued to operate my own auction system, hoping that collector's items which may have been wandering in the narrow antique business world may be appreciated by many people and passed on to persons who want them sincerely.
The central player of our auction is you, who pursue and love antiques.
Kogire-kai is nothing more than a forum where a person who wants to sell antiques can meet with another who wants to buy them. The central player of our auction is you, who pursuit and love antiques. It is our sincere desire that even just one more antique is handed down to later ages through our auctions. If you have any antiques you want to submit to our auction, or if you are interested in participating in it, please don't hesitate to apply for it casually.
